I found out yesterday that the cover of my book “A Vampire Christmas” had the dubious honor of being judged the worst this year by blogger Jessewave.
\nWave has another of my covers up this week, this time “The Forbidden Island,” which frankly is a hell of a lot better than some the other covers in the running.

Now, here’s the thing. The ‘judges’ wonder how I sold books with these covers and these remain two of my best-selling novels ever, so they actually don’t know what the hell they’re talking about.
\nI will say however, some of the covers listed are truly horrendous. I mean, just godawful.
\nMy pick would be #6 and a close second would be #10 – the guy with a gun instead of a penis. These covers leave me feeling queasy.
\nI like my covers. I don’t, just like any other author, have much control over them but “A Vampire Christmas” was my nod to one of my fave movies, “Rosemary’s Baby.”
\nI am thrilled to say my covers have some great company: James Buchanan, Stephani Hecht and Willa Okati and I guess it’s free publicity.
\nI’d like a bun or a cupcake for being an Ugly Cover Star…but I’d settle for a statuette.
\nWhat about you, do you love all your covers?
