COFFEE, TEA AND…H.L. HOLSTON!
By H.L. Holston
Thank you for stopping by on the Raise Your Glasses Tour! I’m your hostess H.L. Holston and today we will be cruising at an altitude of 25,000 feet until we reach our destination. Drinks will be served shortly, so put your seat back and enjoy the flight!
In celebration that my book were released May 5th (Cinco de Mayo), I’ve included a recipe for a drink called the Flaming Cinco de Mayo (see our tour graphic to get an idea of what it looks like).
Please don’t light yourselves on fire when preparing this drink, but if you do, exits are at the back and front of the airplane! *g*
Gather your ingredients: grenadine, tequila, crème de menthe and high-proof liquor, like Bacardi 151. Carefully fill the shot glass less than one-third full of grenadine, then layer your tequila and crème de menthe on top of that and finish it off with the high-proof booze. Using a torch lighter (and a lot of safety – people!), ignite the tops of the shot glasses and take in the glory.
Next – and this step is super important, guys – blow out the fire and take your shot. Enjoy!
Bio & A Giveaway:
H.L. Holston is a teacher by day and a sometimes author by night. In her past lives she has been a: flight attendant, police officer, bank teller, radar operator in the military, and ran the romance section in her local Waldenbooks.
These days she dreams up ideas with her writing partner Sue (they write as Sue Holston), but occasionally she ventures out on her own. She admits she is a horrible blogger, even worse in keeping up on FaceBook, and longs for the days when she was a flight attendant and traveled the world for fun and pay. She can be found at: www.hlholston.com or via email: hlholston@zoho.com.
For listening to her ramble on in airline lingo, she is offering up a copy of her new book, Coffee, Tea and the Mile High Club to one lucky winner, plus the opportunity to win a $20 gift card at the end of the tour. Please leave a message in this post with your email address, if you’d like to be entered.

Posted by Raise Your Glasses Tour | on May 12th, 2012 at 11:44 amI do not think that I’m brave enough to make anything in the kitchen that involves flame! (Setting the oven on fire once was enough, thank you.) I love the sound of this book, and it’s a testament to writing what you know! 😉

Posted by Hambel on May 12th, 2012 at 3:40 pmThis book sounds really good, thanks for the chance to win it. I like that you had to tell people to blow out the flame before drinking the shot, that’s funny 😉
Posted by Andrea on May 12th, 2012 at 4:59 pmHah! I’d better not try this one at home–I once almost set my apartment on fire when I was trying to have a romantic, candlelit dinner and the cat jumped up on the table and walked over the candle. BOOF! The cat went up in flames and then *ran away* because he thought it was in trouble when actually, I was chasing him to put him out.
Damn. I’m so going to have to put that in a story someday, aren’t I?
Anyway, cat and apartment were fine, but I don’t do open flames any more. Love the premise of the story here–sounds even hotter than the drink!

Posted by Suze on May 13th, 2012 at 10:48 amI’ve seen a review for the book elsewhere and thought it sounded like a good one
Haha! wow, that sounds like one hell of a drink. I am so tempted to try it… but I fear setting the apartment on fire ._. lol..
Enjoyed the post! 🙂
