Aloooooooha!

But today we are gonna ask Patty some incredibly stupid questions about the writing life and UNFORESEEN DANGER, which is one da kine, really hot read!

  1.  Hi Patti, what’s your favorite cocktail? I’ll have the cabana boys whip one up for you while I ask you some totally stupid, I mean important questions.

Well, it used to be red wine but I don’t drink much anymore so these days, I’d say it would be a virgin Bloody Mary, extra spicy J

2. If you could use a Barbie doll as a voodoo doll, who would you hurt and what would you do to them?

Oh, man, I’m a lover and not a fighter but if I had to choose, I’d probably say my friend, Kage Alan. He’s an amazing author who writes comedy with gay characters and some of the funniest dialogue you’ve ever read. We’ve known each other for many years and love to poke fun at each other when we get together. It might just be fun to be able to poke him for real. lol

3. If you could have any accent in the world, which one would it be?

Wow, I love accents. This one is really hard to decide. Maybe British. I grew up loving British comedy shows. I’m a sucker for a great comedy and the Brits just have such a dry wit, I want to die from laughing. From Benny Hill to Monty Python to Mrs. Brown’s Boys, I love it all.

4. You write a lot of BDSM you naughty girl. What’s the wickedest thing you ever did with a man?

RuhRoh, now you’ve let the cat out of the bag. LOL. Long before I ever began writing it, I was dating a cop. This man was a hot, tough, handsome guy with a big (ahem) gun. One night he decided he wanted to share this big secret with me so he stuck me on the back of his motorcycle and drove me to an adult bookstore where he got some “supplies”. When we got back to his place, let’s just say he pulled a couple of interesting toys out of the bag and showed them to me. When I protested, saying that there was probably no way those were going to fit in any spaces I was comfortable with, he responded that he wasn’t planning on using them on me. He wanted me to use them on him. Needless to say, the man was a big ‘ol submissive. Imagine that. A big tough cop by day and a total and complete submissive in the bedroom. I understand that psychological need now but thirty-plus years ago, it was a shock to my system and I’ve never been able to look at a police officer with a straight face since.

  1.  You’re stuck on a deserted island after a three hour tour that goes awry. Name six people alive or dead that you’d like to be marooned with…and your fantasy castaway meal.

Let’s see. This may surprise some folks but the first one would be my dad. My dad was a WWII Navy veteran and one of the most brilliant men I ever met. He was incredibly accomplished, publishing two books the year he died at 85 and being one of two men who invented the first rudimentary “black box” for aircraft. He held almost 20 patents and worked on the original Apollo missions. He could build anything out of nothing so I think my stay on the island would be short. He was just like the original “Professor” from Gilligan’s Island.

Second, I’d want Ellen DeGeneres. She is one of my favorite comediennes and she’d keep us all in stitches.

Third, I’d want my daughter, Sasha. She’s sixteen and still that perfect age when she’s about to become a young woman, looking forward to the future with a child-like hope and enthusiasm for the future and yet also still innocent of most of the evil in the world. She’s also brilliant and a great thinker and wise beyond her years for a child her age.  I nearly lost her to a brain tumor at eleven so I am grateful for every moment I get to spend with her.

Fourth, I’d want Freddy Mercury from Queen so that he could sing to us.

Fifth, I’d want Mel Brooks. Besides being a brilliant comedian, producer, and director, he has amazing stories that are among the most highly entertaining, I’ve ever heard.

Finally, sixth, I’d want to share the island with Matthew Bomber, just to give me some blue eyes to gaze into every day. Oo0 la la.

As for my castaway meal, another tough one since I love to eat all types of ethnic food. I’ll say we’ll do Persian since my husband is Persian and his mother taught me most things. We’d start with Dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves), plain yogurt, and fresh sabzi (fresh tarragon, basil, and mint leaves). For our appetizer we’d have AsheReshte (a variation of noodle soup made with garbanzo and red beans). Our main course would be Barg (a combination of ground beef and filet mignon kebabs) served with ZereskPollo (White rice with a fried bayberry and onion). For dessert, Bastani (custard ice cream made with rosewater and pistachio). Finally, to drink, Dugh (Yogurt selzerß really good on a hot day)

Unforeseen Danger by Patricia Logan is available now exclusively on Kindle Worlds…

SYNOPSIS:

Kaua’i Detective, Jack Jenkins, has just settled into married life with his new wife Anuhea and he loves his job in the laid back island paradise. When he hears his brother Lane, an undercover LAPD cop, has gone missing while on assignment, he flies to the mainland to help locate him.

Jack immediately rubs Lane’s partner Brennan the wrong way. Brennan has no need of his help, and he fears his intrusion will put Lane in even more jeopardy. Jack is not easily swayed when it comes to protecting family and when Bren finally realizes he’s not going to be able to shake the tenacious detective, the men vow to find a way to work together.

As Jack plunges into the unfamiliar world where Lane’s gone undercover, from the biker bars of the Inland Empire to the gay bars of West Hollywood, he uncovers evidence that perhaps Lane has more secrets than he’s been prepared to face.

With unforeseen danger lurking around every corner, Brennan and Jack form an uncommon brotherhood with one goal, taking down the bad guys… while getting Lane out alive.

(Unforeseen Danger takes place after Rip Tides, Book 9 of the Lei Crime series)
